Student Conference Spring 2002

The highly successful Spring 2002 Critical Issues Forum Student-Teacher conference on "Missiles and Missile Defense" was held in April, 2002, in New Mexico. Conference presenters and participants included 44 students and 20 teachers from eight U. S. and five Russian schools.

The conference was held in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and at the White Sands Missile Test Range. Conference attendees from the U. S. arrived on Thursday, April 18, and departed on Sunday, April 21. Conference participants from Russia arrived a day earlier and departed a day later. Students and teachers stayed at the Baymont Inn in Las Cruces. All conference participants enjoyed a Saturday evening BBQ hosted by San Andres High School and the San Andres CIF conference team.

White Sands Missile Range hosted the student conference presentations at the Frontier Club Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20. Student presentations were scheduled Friday morning and afternoon and Saturday morning. Following the completion of the presentations on Saturday afternoon, the group visited the Missile Museum at White Sands.
