Masako Toki is the Critical Issues Forum Program
Manager and Research Associate in Nonproliferation Education Program
at CNS.
She develops
online
educational resources, including the NPT tutorial. She is a content
teacher for the Japanese section of the Monterey Model Course "Current
Issues in Nonproliferation" during the spring 2005, and 2003
semesters. She received her M.A. in International Policy Studies
from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with a Certificate
in Nonproliferation Studies in 2000. She was selected as an intern
for the Office of External Relations and Policy Coordination at
the International
Atomic Energy Agency (January through June 2001.) Before
she started working at CNS in May 2002, she was a Herbert
Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow at the Union
of Concerned Scientists in Washington,
DC where she conducted her research on National Missile Defense.
Her research interests include strengthening international disarmament
and nonproliferation regimes, disarmament and nonproliferation
education, and Japan's nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament
policy.

Dr. Stephen C. Sesko is an Assistant Professor at an educational institution
in Monterey. He is currently a senior educational advisor to the CIF
program. He
managed CIF
at
CNS for three years. Dr. Sesko came to CNS from a 22-year career in education
at the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory (LLNL) where he was the Special
Assistant to the Director of the Science and Technology Education Program. He
managed three technology-integrated programs designed to enhance higher level
thinking skills for teachers and students, one of which was the the CIF program.
At the Laboratory, he also developed and directed programs for learners in the
areas of computer programming, hypertext, telecommunications, interactive learning
environments, curriculum planning for technology, integration of technology into
learning, and similar topics. He led several research projects which have been
accepted by refereed conferences and publications. Dr. Sesko has presented papers
to the American Educational Research
Association, the National
Science Teachers
Association, the National
Educational
Computing Conference, and numerous
local and regional education conferences. Dr. Sesko received his Ph.D. from the
University
of Oregon in Eugene.

Lubov
Shchekaleva is the founding Director and Project Leader of Nuclear
Cities Informational Education Project (NCEIC).
Lubov manages the CIF program for teachers in the nuclear closed
cities in Russia.
Lubov is a teacher of Business English at School #41 in Novouralsk,
Russia.
Lubov has a Masters Degree in Teaching English and German from
the State
Pedagogical University in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Lubov assists
the Swedish Nuclear
Power Inspectorate (SKI) in the implementation
of project activities concerning nuclear non-proliferation education
at the universities in the Ural Region of Russia. She can

Bob Shayler is
a high school physics and math teacher in California who has been
part of the CIF program since 1999. Bob manages the CIF website
and
takes
way too many
photos
at
all
CIF events. Bob currently teaches physics and math at Orinda
Academy in Orinda, California.
Bob has previously taught at San Leandro and Pacifiic High Schools in San Leandro, CA, and at the Berkeley-Carroll School in Brooklyn, NY. He was a California
State Telementor and has taught courses in the
educational
uses
of technology
for
the Alameda
County Office of Education, UC
Berkeley Extension and other organizations. Bob
has presented at Computer
Using Educator (CUE) conferences and
is a Gold
Disk recipient (1999) from CUE. In November 2006, Bob led a
group of high school students and teachers to the NCEIC
conference in Novouralsk, Russia, on his fourth
trip to Russia/SU. He earned a B.A. degree in physics and math
from the University
of California, Riverside, and holds a life credential for teaching
physics and math in secondary schools in California.
